Contract Description
The 5th Contracting Squadron in Minot Air Force Base, ND, intends to award a single source purchase order to provide the VICADS System. Prometheus Security Group Global's VICADS V100 VMS has an approved Authority Operate IAW AFI 17-101, managed by AFLCMC/HBUC, and is the only system on the AFLCMC/HBU Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Configuration Management Database (CMD) which is the authorized listing of VMS and security sensor equipment approved by Headquarters Air Force for installation of security systems in support of base defense operations. The statutory authority that permits awarding this contract using other than full and open competition is FAR 13.501(a), 41 U.S.C. 1901, which allows for acquisitions conducted under simplified acquisition procedures for sole source purchases.
