Contract Description
The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation Contracting Office, intends to award a Firm Fixed-Price, sole source contract to Timken Gears & Services, Inc., under authority 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 Only one source responsible and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, for the full replacement of internal gearing and components, reassembly and testing of the complete assembly, for two (2) miter gate drive operating gearboxes. Timken Gears & Services., Inc., (formerly Philadelphia Gear) is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and designer of the gearboxes and retains proprietary design knowledge necessary to produce components that meet these requirements.
