Contract Description
GENERAL The purpose of this project is to trim trees quarterly, removing shrubs, grass, and other vegetation, or obstructions surrounding the UPP VOR antenna to prevent interference of the radiated signal from the antenna. The tree coverage is mostly made up of tall Ironwood up to 60 feet tall. The terrain is on the mountain top and the trimmed areas are very steep which requires extra efforts to get to. NOTE: The contractor must be aware about the Hawaiian Hawks habitat close to the UPP VOR site. The work should not be scheduled during the mating period – August-September time frame.
