Contract Description
The National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) relies on the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Nautical System Enterprise (NSE), a client-server, MySQL-based database application. NSE serves as the official maintenance management and financial tracking system for the Ready Reserve Force (RRF) program. To support budgeting and contractor oversight, MARAD developed a custom reporting solution—the Ship Manager Reporting Tool—which extracts and organizes data from NSE for use in the RRF budget cycle and the development of the program’s five-year budget request. The Ship Manager Reporting Tool currently provides 20 custom reports used by MARAD for contract oversight, maintenance management, business planning, and execution monitoring.
